Gator Waders Size Chart: How to Pick Your Size

The Gator waders size chart lives on Gator Waders' own size charts page, which has a separate chart for each wader line (Omega, Retro, Shadow, Shield and Swamp waders, plus hip boots and a youth chart), so you size by choosing your line first and then reading that line's chart. This page does not copy the charts. It shows how Gator splits them, how the Regular, Stout, Long, King and Bossman sizes appear in the Gator waders we track on Amazon US, how boot size works on a bootfoot pair, and where to go for the numbers.

Short answer

Pick your wader line, then use that line's chart. Gator's size charts page is organized by audience (men's, women's, youth) and then by product. A Shield chart is not an Omega chart, and a men's chart is not a women's chart.

I am not reproducing any of the numbers. They are the maker's, models change, and a stale copy is worse than none. Gator's FAQ also points customers to this chart when they ask what size to order. Background on the maker and the pairs we track is on the Gator Waders brand page. For how to take your own measurements, see our general wader size chart guide.

How Gator splits its charts

From the headings on the size charts page:

The wader lines Gator names are the ones to match to your pair. The Amazon pairs we track are the Shield Insulated Waders (men's and women's), the Omega Zip Waders, the Retro Neoprene Chest Waders (men's and women's) and the Youth Neoprene Waders. Shadow and Swamp waders have charts on the maker's page, but we did not find them in our data for Amazon US at our last check.

What the size labels tell you

In the Amazon listing for the men's Shield Insulated Waders, sizes are written as a build plus a boot size range: Regular 8 to 13, Stout 10 to 13, Long 10 to 14, King 11 to 14 and Bossman 12 to 15. Two things follow.

First, the build label is a separate choice from boot size. You choose a build and then a boot size inside it, so the same boot size can show up under more than one build. Second, the larger builds start at bigger boot sizes. A man with a size 9 foot and a stocky frame may find that no build with the room he needs comes in his boot size, which is worth knowing before you click.

The listing does not say what the builds measure, and the Gator page text I could read did not either. Our general guide notes that no two makers define Stout, Long or King the same way, so the numbers on the chart for your line decide. (A size name is a label, not a measurement, and the chart is the part that has the numbers.)

Only the Shield listing in our data carries this kind of label. The other Gator waders we track list a gender fit or none at all, so for those, go straight to the chart.

Boot size on bootfoot waders

Every Gator wader in our data is a bootfoot, so the boot is part of the wader and you buy one size for body and foot. Several of the pairs we track are neoprene or insulated (the Retro and Shield names say so), so the question is whether your foot has room for the socks you will wear. Our bootfoot waders page explains the trade-off.

The practical points:

I found no Gator guidance on between-sizes choices on the pages I read, so I won't invent one.

Women's and youth sizes

Women's waders have separate charts in Gator's Retro, Shadow, Shield and Swamp lines, so read the women's chart, not the men's, if you are buying a pair that is made as a women's model. Our data lists a Women's Shield Insulated pair and a Women's Retro Neoprene Chest pair. See women's waders for the other makers.

Youth waders have their own chart. Children outgrow gear, but I would not buy waders far too large for a child to wade in, because fabric bunching at the legs and a heavy, water-filled boot are hazards in moving water. Keep children in shallow water with an adult close by. Our youth wader size chart guide covers measuring a child, and the kids' waders page lists the pairs we track.

What our data shows

At our last check (October 2026) we track six Gator waders on Amazon US, all bootfoot. Only the Shield Insulated Waders list a full set of size labels in the data we collected, and Gator links a size chart for that pair. For the rest, the listing does not give a size range, which is one more reason to open the maker's chart before ordering. Sizes quoted from Amazon listings are listing values and are not confirmed by the maker.

Buyer feedback on fit

I did not read buyer reviews for these pairs while writing this page, so I won't summarize them. Fit feedback varies from pair to pair, so read recent reviews on the exact model for comments on length and boot room.

Before you order

Measure yourself using the steps in our wader size chart guide, open Gator's chart for your line and audience, and compare. If your numbers sit between rows, check the maker's contact details on the FAQ page, and look at the return and exchange terms of the seller. When you are ready to compare pairs, the Gator Waders brand page lists what we track, and the waders page lets you filter by foot type and insulation.

Questions people ask

Where is the Gator waders size chart?

On the Gator Waders size charts page, which links to men's, women's and youth sections. Men's has charts for Omega, Retro, Shadow, Shield and Swamp waders and for hip boots. Women's has Retro, Shadow, Shield and Swamp waders. Youth has a single youth waders chart. Open the section for your line, because the charts are split by product.

What do Stout, Long, King and Bossman mean in Gator waders?

I can't give you the maker's definitions, because the page text I could read lists only the chart headings and the chart contents did not come through. What our data shows is how the labels appear in an Amazon listing: for the Shield Insulated Waders the listing shows Regular 8 to 13, Stout 10 to 13, Long 10 to 14, King 11 to 14 and Bossman 12 to 15. That tells you which boot sizes come in which build, not what the build measures. Use Gator's chart for the numbers.

Do Gator waders come in half sizes?

The size labels we have from the Amazon listing for the Shield waders are whole sizes only, from 8 to 15. I did not find a half-size rule on the Gator pages I read, so check the product page and the chart for your line before ordering.

What size Gator waders should I get if I am between sizes?

The Gator pages I read give no between-sizes rule. The general advice in our wader size chart guide is that bootfoot waders need room for thick socks and a tight boot chills feet, so many anglers go up. Treat that as general guidance and check Gator's chart for your line.

Does Gator make youth and women's waders?

Yes, according to the size charts page, which has a youth waders chart and women's charts for Retro, Shadow, Shield and Swamp waders. In our data at our last check (October 2026), Amazon US lists a Youth Neoprene Waders pair, a Women's Shield Insulated pair and a Women's Retro Neoprene Chest pair.
