TIDEWE Waders

Who TIDEWE is

TIDEWE describes itself as a hunting gear brand, with the tagline "Reliable & High-Performance Hunting Gear." Its website sells waders, boots and other hunting gear. I could not find a founding year, a headquarters or an owner on the pages I opened, and other sources disagree on when the company started, so I am leaving that out.

The wader collection on TIDEWE's own site lists lines named TerraWade, AquaWade, DeepWade, QuestWade, Seeker, MarshWarrior and LightWade, plus a collaboration model and a youth pair, in breathable and neoprene constructions, some insulated and one heated. Those are the maker's names. The Amazon listings we track use different names, such as WD001 and WD003, and none of them links to a maker page, so we cannot map one to the other. That is why this page's table is marked "listing" almost everywhere.

What TIDEWE sells on Amazon US

At our last check (October 2026) we track nine TIDEWE waders on Amazon US. All are bootfoot. They fall into four groups.

Nylon-PVC. The Nylon/PVC Chest Waders (WD001) and the Kids Chest Waders (WD007) are uninsulated coated fabric. The Hip Waders (WD002) are a nylon-PVC pair too, with cleated rubber soles. A coated-fabric wader is waterproof and light but not insulated, so you add layers underneath. It suits mild weather and short wading. (The Seam, the stitched or welded join where such a wader lives or dies, is unimpressed by the word "waterproof." Check what the listing says about seams, and expect not to find much.)

Neoprene. The Neoprene Chest Waders list 3.5 mm neoprene and cleated rubber soles. The Neoprene Chest Hunting Waders 600G (WD003) and the 600G for Women list 3.5 mm neoprene with 600 g boots in Next Camo Evo. The Neoprene Chest Waders 1400G (WD008) list 5 mm neoprene and 1,400 g boots. The Kids Neoprene Insulated Chest Waders (WD004) are 3.5 mm neoprene with reinforced knees. Neoprene is foamed rubber, insulates on its own and stays warm when wet.

Breathable. The Breathable Insulated Chest Waders are the newest and the only breathable pair. The listing claims three layers, a 20,000 mm waterproof rating and a 2,500 g breathability rating, with 1,600 g boots and reinforced knees. The listing does not name a test for those ratings, so read them as claims.

How to read the table

Each value in the table carries a small mark. Maker would mean the manufacturer's own page states it, but none of the TIDEWE values qualifies, because the Amazon models do not link to a maker page. Claimed is a manufacturer's claim with no independent standard behind it. Listing, which is what you will see on almost every cell, means the Amazon listing says so and the maker has not confirmed it. A dash means nobody has confirmed it, and we do not guess. "More specs" under each model name shows the other values.

Use the table to compare TIDEWE pairs with each other: material, thickness, boot insulation, height and whether the model has reinforced knees. For warranty and size range, the table will show dashes, because those are not confirmed in our data.

Choosing between the TIDEWE pairs

Start with the water and the day.

Mild weather, short wading, a budget for layers. The nylon-PVC chest waders are the light option. They are not insulated, so plan on warm clothing under them in cool weather, and expect to sweat in them, because coated fabric does not breathe.

Cold water and long sits. Neoprene is the match. The 5 mm pair with 1,400 g boots is the warmest in the group on paper. The 3.5 mm pairs with 600 g boots are lighter and easier to move in. Heavy neoprene is warm standing and hot walking, so be honest about which you do. Our neoprene waders page explains the trade.

Walking and changing weather. The breathable insulated pair is the only TIDEWE option for it. The ratings in the listing are claims, so I would look for what buyers say about leaks and fit before deciding. Our breathable vs neoprene guide explains why the two behave differently.

Shallow ponds and creek edges. The hip waders cover less, and they are light and quick to put on. They also leave you exposed if you step deeper than your thighs. Our hip waders page covers what to check, and if you may go deeper, choose chest height.

What the breathable pair's numbers mean

The Breathable Insulated Chest Waders are the only TIDEWE listing with numbers for the fabric, so they deserve a closer look. A waterproof rating in millimeters, 20,000 mm here, normally describes how tall a column of water the fabric can hold before it leaks through, measured in a lab. A breathability rating in grams, 2,500 g here, normally describes how much water vapor passes through a square meter of fabric in a day. The listing gives neither the test method nor the unit, so there is no way to compare these figures with another maker's. Treat them as a statement of intent. They tell you the fabric is meant to be waterproof and to let sweat out, and nothing about how it will cope with abrasion, seams or zippers. For durability, the layer count (three, per the listing), the knee reinforcement and the warranty are better signals, and the warranty here is the one thing we could not confirm.

Kids' and women's waders

The kids' pairs are the part of this line where I would slow down. Waders on a child are not a toy: a pair that is too big traps water and makes movement harder, and a child in cold or moving water needs an adult within reach, a snug belt at the waist and a life jacket on anything deeper than they can stand in. Choose by measurement, not by hoping the child will grow into them. The women's pair, the Neoprene Chest Hunting Waders 600G for Women, is listed as a women's model. The Field & Stream reviewer who wrote about it found it baggy in the chest, groin and hips and too tall for a 5-foot-5 frame, and described the pattern as essentially men's waders in smaller sizes. That is one person's experience of one pair, but it illustrates why you should measure rather than rely on a label. Our women's waders page has the measurements to take.

About the reviews

The search "TIDEWE waders review" suggests many people want one. I do not test waders, and I did not read Amazon buyer reviews for these listings, so I am not summarizing them here. What I can point to is the Field & Stream piece: its writer used the women's 600 g neoprene chest waders for a couple of seasons and found them warm, waterproof and comfortable for full days, said the boots run roomy and true to size, and called them a reasonable introductory pair for duck hunting, with the caveat that long-term durability was unknown. The reviewer also noted a baggy fit. That is a single, unrelated account. When you read buyer reviews yourself, look for two things: fit, and leaks in the first season.

Warranty and returns

TIDEWE's website lists a one-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee among its benefits, and links to a returns and warranty policy page. I could not open that page, so I cannot tell you what is and is not covered. No warranty term appears in the Amazon listing data we hold. If you buy on Amazon, the seller's return terms on the listing apply to your order. The practical rule is to save the order confirmation, test the waders at the shallow end before your first real outing, and report any leak immediately rather than at the end of the season.

Fit and sizing

TIDEWE's FAQ advises ordering one size larger if you plan to wear thick socks or extra layers under the wader. That matches the general rule: bootfoot waders are sized twice, once for the boot and once for the body, and a boot that squeezes your socks makes your feet colder. Measure your chest at its fullest part, your waist at the navel and your inseam on the inside of the leg, then compare with the chart on the listing. Do not buy a size down for a snug fit: waders are cut to move with you, and a pair that pulls at the crotch or shoulders will wear at the seams first.

Care

Neoprene and coated fabric both degrade in sunlight and heat. Rinse mud off, dry the inside fully and hang or loosely fold the pair out of the sun.
